I'm a registered counsellor specialising in couples and relationship therapy
I'm Amy Keisinger, a registered counsellor specialising in couples and relationship therapy. I work with couples who want to strengthen their connection, repair after challenges, and find healthier ways of communicating — as well as with individuals seeking more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
My path into counselling began with a desire for a career that felt purposeful and allowed me to support others in meaningful ways. Over time I worked in mental health, disability support, and crisis services, which gave me a deep appreciation for compassion, cultural awareness, and the importance of meeting each person where they are.
At its core, my work is about helping people step out of painful or repetitive cycles and into relationships — with themselves and with others — that feel authentic, fulfilling and resilient.
I am a qualified relationship counsellor and a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I adhere to ACA's Code of Ethics and professional practice standards.
Work with me →I have a strong foundation across counselling, mental health, and relationship-focused therapy.
I draw from a range of evidence-based methods, adapting my approach to suit the needs, pace, and goals of each person or couple.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
I use EFT to help couples and individuals identify and reshape the emotional patterns and attachment needs that drive conflict and disconnection.
Gottman Method
I draw on practical, research-backed tools to help improve communication, manage conflict, and deepen friendship and intimacy.
Relational Life Therapy
I work with deeply ingrained relational habits to help people build more respectful, connected, and fulfilling ways of relating.
Psychodynamic & Neurobiological
Together we explore how early experiences and attachment patterns shape present-day relationships, supporting lasting change from the inside out.
Cariad is a Welsh word meaning love, beloved, or dear one. I chose it as a way of honouring my family's Welsh roots, and because it beautifully represents the essence of what therapy can help create — connection, care, and love.
It speaks to the universal need to feel loved, connected, and understood. That is the heart of this work.
